Intercept a pass while using Reaction Time.

This must be done while playing in Road to Glory Mode, as this is the only mode that allows you to use reaction time as a defensive player. Start up a Road to Glory career and make sure you select a defensive position (CB, FF, SS) when creating your player. Change the height of your created player to 7'0". If you forget to change it the first time, enter the "Change Appearance" menu and you will be able to edit it there. You will also be able to edit your sliders (House Rules) on the "RTG Setup" menu. I suggest having your difficulty set to Freshman and both Injuries and Fatigue set to OFF. For your custom AI, I suggest turning your Interceptions slider to 100. Also, go into the CPU's sliders and change the QB Accuracy to 0.

This achievement will require a lot of luck since you won't always get the ball passed your way. Here's another nice little method you can try to unlock this with.

Go into the "Edit Roster" screen and edit Texas' starting SS. Max out all appropriate attributes such as catching, speed, and awareness. You're also going to want to change his Height to 7'0. Also change the starting RB's attributes (Speed, Awareness, Carrying. Mainly to have a better overall). Now back out and begin your RTG career. Make sure you select 'Use Existing Player' and select the Texas SS that we have just edited. Also set the difficulty to Freshman at the next screen. Once in the RTG Main Menu, go over to the 'System Settings' and set Autosave to OFF, then save your RTG. Also, change the House Rules as so:

Interceptions: 100

QB Accuracy: 40
Pass Blocking: 100

The easiest way to unlock this is by playing the practices during the weeks. It saves a lot of time instead of trying to unlock it during the games.

I unlocked this by positioning my player directly behind the defensive line. The Quarterback usually passes a lot of slant passes that you will be able to pick off real easy. As soon as the Quarterback makes his pass, enter into reaction time and break to the ball. Do NOT activate reaction time as soon as the ball is hiked, because if you do, the achievement will not unlock.

Another easy way: (This is using the same method as before with editing your stats.)
Now, I went to practice. It could be just coincidence, but because I maxed out the RB, the majority of the plays were run through the RB. I crept up to the line of scrimmage, looking for a screen pass to the RB. After about 10 reps, they ran several screen plays in a row. As you see the pass going to the RB, simultaneously run to intercept it as you hold the  down to turn on the Reaction Time. If you intercept it, the achievement pops.

Refer to THIS thread for extra tips on how to unlock this achievement.

User Andrew x360a adds:

This needs to be the first or last achievement that you go for in the game. It’s reported to be exceedingly glitchy. I personally completed the requirements for it four different times before I got it to unlock on the fifth interception. The major issue appears to be the presence of other saves in the game. If you don’t unlock it straight away upon starting the game, wait until the end so you can delete everything. Here’s how I finally unlocked the achievement:

  • I deleted everything related to the game, including the title update, off my hard drive. The only thing remaining on the drive was the installed game. Upon starting the game up again, I declined the tuning update, so I had to play offline.
  • Pick Texas Tech as your favorite team.
  • Go to the “Edit Rosters” tab in the main menu and find FS#3. Edit his sliders so that he’s 99 in every category.
  • Use RT to change over to the corner backs (CB). Edit the sliders so that their Speed, Acceleration, and Jumping abilities are all 0. Also change all of them to 5’5” tall. Use RT again to switch to the wide receivers (WR). Edit the sliders so that their Jumping is 0 and make them all 5’5” as well.
  • Exit the Edit Roster screen and the game will auto save. This is fine. Start up a new Road to Glory game and choose “Use Existing Player”. Select FS#3 as your player. Set the difficulty to Freshman.
  • In the RTG menu, go to “Road to Glory Settings”. Turn “Injuries” and “Fatigue” off. Edit the sliders so that the User Interceptions is at 100 and the CPU is 0 in everything except Pass Blocking. You want that to be 100. The idea there is to prevent sacks and give the quarterback enough time to pass the ball.
  • Go to Practice in Week 1. As soon as the ball is snapped, backpedal to a spot between the end zone and the 5 yard line, just to the right of the right hash mark. Anywhere from two to five times a practice, the quarterback will throw a deep pass approximately to this spot. It happens most often when there are three wide receivers lined up on that side. As soon as the ball is in the air, hit LT to enter Reaction Time, and run to the orange circle on the ground where the ball is headed. When it gets close to you, hit Y to intercept it while still holding LT. Keep holding LT and the achievement should pop as soon as you catch the ball.

I tried a number of different combinations that failed to unlock the achievement even when I caught the ball on four different occasions. Using this approach with deleting everything and playing offline, it unlocked on my very first interception.

If you don’t get it in the first practice, just sim to the second week and go to practice again. Do not turn off auto save and try to reload your RTG. This may corrupt your save. You have over a dozen practices over the course of the season, so you have you plenty of opportunities to go for the achievement.

Playing the demo, I didn't really enjoy using the Reaction time...I used it a few times. But in a football game I think the idea is very dumb, it takes the speed out of every play away just to make easy decisions.

Agreed with the above poster on the reaction time being a bit too much of a problem solver.

I didn't like it at first, but playing the early release, it's fun to dominate! And you don't have to use it if you don't want to. It's nice as a WR to set up the defender by making cuts and waiting for them to take the wrong step.

Just keep playing. I don't have it myself yet but there were a few achievements last year where it seemed like lightning had to strike to get them ("intercept a pass in a 4-3" or something, etc.), the game gods will reward you. I believe in making your own luck, so don't forget to get creative with the game settings...

Luckily, I got it on my 3rd rep in practice week 1 with an edited 7'0 SS, lol.

There's a thread that explains an easier way to do it, but I did the 7'0 thing by myself because I knew I would easily get the INT IF the QB actually threw the ball up for grabs.

This is a BS achievement. Screw it. Not enough of an achievement whore to try any more.

play the screen and RB as a LB or SS and you will eventually get a pick. It's not too hard at all, just takes some time to get. This is much easier than last years iron man achievement!

OK guys I figured out how to get this one! Make sure that you delete all your RTG saved files. If you have more then one RTG file it wont recognize the interception because you have more then one file.

1. What I did was I went into Texas team and maxed out the SS. I made it to where he was 99's across the board. I also made him 7ft tall. Once you are done editing the Texas SS and done maxing his height to 7 ft save the settings.

2. Now go into RTG and create a game with an existing player. Go to Texas and choose the SS as your player. Once you create the RTG game and player go into your RTG file and then scroll to RTG setup tab at the top. Go into the RTG House rules and modify the settings. Change the skill level to Freshman. Then press the RB button and make your User interceptio

User Iinterceptions maxed out to 100. Once you do all of this save it and back out. Also as an added bonus I went to the MY NCAA tab and went into system settings and turned the auto save off. This way you can stay in practice mode and if you dont get it, then you can back out of RTG and go back in and practice again. The reason this is beneficial is because every play in practice mode, your timer resets back to 20 seconds. I got this acheivements after 3 plays in practice.

NOTE: Make sure that you dont have any saved RTG files. If you have more then one the achievement wont pop. I read a forum where someone deleted all their files and started all over and it worked. Well I decided to try that and the acheivement popped after 3 plays.

I needed this for my 1G so I deleted everything including the demo from my HD/Cloud saves and it finally popped in the first practice session after my previous 3 or 4 interceptions with no results. I would like to highly stress going into the MY NCAA tab in system settings and turn auto save off as mentioned in #17 and #18. Hope this spares you some of the pain and suffering I went through to get this demon achievement.

This achievement sucks and ill probably never get it. They won't even throw the ball my way let alone when they do I'm never even close to picking it off.

Make a guy who is 7'0" at CB. Turn CPU QB Accuracy down to 0. Be Running your own routes to where the QB's eyes are. Wait for your oppurtunity to strike. Got this my first game with this tactic.

Just got this one and didn't really have to alter much. I used a SS for Texas Tech and played in the first game against some random team and the QB threw an errant pass and I was right there to grab it. Achievement unlocked.

I got this really easy by sort of taking hints from other people. Ok choose a team with an Air Raid offense, I chose ECU. Edit their CBs, FSs, and SSs to have speed below 10. Then take a SS and make him 99 in basically every defensive category and make him 7ft tall. Then go to Road to Glory and use existing player, choose your SS and go to practice and it should be easiest to unlock when the offense practices a hail mary type of pass. Make sure you only have one RTG though or else it might not unlock apparently.

I believe the reason this doesn't show sometimes is there are created players on the roster file. I did this four times and it wouldn't take. Then I tried the default roster file that shipped with the game and it worked. You can modify players just no create them. Not sure if when you create a player in road to glory mode if that would work or not...

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this, so I'll mention it in case there's anybody who is having trouble with this. If you're constantly quitting and reloading the file, it can glitch up the achievement and cause it not to work. This is what happened to me, and I spent a good 5-6 hours trying to get it.

So if you're having trouble getting this, just keep going through the weeks and doing the practices until you get it, don't quit out
