Introduction:
Welcome to Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark. It was developed by the studio Edge of Reality. It is a third-person shooter, and if you’ve played either of the Cybertron games, this one should instantly be familiar to you as it uses the same engine and controls. In this game, the Autobots must prevent the mercenary Lockdown from using the Dark Spark, the evil antithesis of the Matrix of Leadership, from ripping apart time and space and ultimately taking over the universe.

The main storyline takes place in a period between the games War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. The Earth segments are said to occur before the fourth film, Age of Extinction, although there are some peculiarities that don’t correspond to the film. It is said that while characters from the film are used in this game, namely Lockdown and Drift, it takes place in an alternate reality from the film as really has no relation to the movie universe at all. Even the Cybertron storyline doesn’t correlate completely to the other two games, namely with the inclusion of the Insecticons, who were first discovered in the game that succeeds this one, Fall of Cybertron.

Step 1 - Campaign (~10 hours):
There are 14 chapters in the campaign. It is recommended that you play on Easy difficulty as there are no difficulty achievements. There are 18 collectibles and they are only found during the chapters on Cybertron. All of the in-level achievements can be unlocked as you play through the first time, so there should really be no need to have to play any chapter again with the exception of maybe the ability achievements.

Step 2 - Escalation (~5 hours):
There are 12 achievements related specifically to Escalation, ranging from clearing waves, using abilities and upgrading installations. It is the only online multiplayer mode in the game. It is wave based, like Horde Mode in Gears of War or Zombies in Call of Duty. For this game, they’ve made some changes from previous Transformers games as anything you’ve already unlocked, even in Campaign, can be used in Escalation, making it much easier. Installations are also another addition that lowers the difficulty. You can select Easy difficulty and get all the achievements.

Note that all of the Escalation achievements except for one can be done solo. The only one that requires at least one other person for is “I Hope You Have Insurance.” To find friends to play with, post in the Official XBA Boosting Session Information & Discussion thread.

Step 3 - Mop Up:
Once you’ve completed the campaign, if there are any in-level achievements you failed to unlock the first time, there is a chapter select for your convenience. Some ability achievements can be done in both modes and others only in Escalation. These solutions have examples on where to unlock these if they can be done in campaign. The two achievements you will probably have to grind are “Give Me The News Doc” and “You Got The Touch.” Remember; do not activate Prime Mode until you’ve unlocked all other achievements!

Conclusion:
Congratulations on completing another game! This story wasn’t too unpleasant and the game itself wasn’t difficult at all to complete, but I hope you had fun playing it. Thanks for reading!

Thanks to PS4Trophies, VGFAQ, Video Game Source, NextHaloGamin Graham, Random Chievo's and Generic Gaming for use of their videos in the guide.

Aligned10
Choose your allegiance.   (3)

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

To choose your allegiance, from the Main Menu, select ‘Escalation’ > ‘Quick Match’ > ‘Choose Faction’. Select either Autobots or Decepticons and the achievement will unlock.

Peace through Tyranny15
Defeat 250 Autobots.

This can be earned in the campaign in chapters 2, 4, 5 and 6 or in Escalation while playing as a Decepticon. Any enemy defeated in either mode will count towards this achievement. This will most likely unlock before you complete the campaign and will probably be earned multiple times.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

It Was An Honor15
Defeat 250 Decepticons or mercenaries.

This can be earned in the campaign in chapters 1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 or in Escalation while playing as an Autobot. Any enemy defeated in either mode will count towards this achievement. This will most likely unlock before you complete the campaign and will probably be earned multiple times.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Short Circuit10
Reach Level 5.

Refer to “You Got The Touch” for more information.

Perfect10
Reach Level 10.

Refer to “You Got The Touch” for more information.

You Got The Touch10
Reach Level 25.

You reach level 25 when you’ve accumulated 700,000 XP. You earn XP by defeating enemies and completing challenges in either campaign or Escalation modes. Also, assigning HACKs and T.E.C.H. will increase your XP percentage/multiplier.

It is very likely that when you complete the campaign you will be above level 15 or more. Then, you may attain level 25 by playing Escalation and getting all of those achievements. If not, below is a quick shortcut for ranking up fast.

Chapter 7 XP Shortcut:
At the end of the chapter you need to rescue Cliffjumper. Just before entering that section, there is a Weapon Terminal. Interact with it and assign a +300% XP HACK (like the ‘No Shield Regen’) and assign all your T.E.C.H. to a +6 XP Multiplier. If you haven’t unlocked these specific items from Gear Boxes, use the highest value you have.

Resume the game and enter the next section. After clearing out the enemies, Jazz will approach the control panel holding Cliffjumper and try to deactivate it. To defend Jazz, jump on a turret in the corner of the area and activate all three of your T.E.C.H. items. All you need to do is blast the enemies coming down both ramps to the sides. Keep an eye on the bottom right hand corner of the screen, as when one T.E.C.H. disappears, activate another one. When you get the new objective that says ‘Clear the area of Decepticon forces’, immediately press  and ‘Restart from Last Checkpoint’. You will accumulate approximately 20-25,000 XP each time you do this and all XP earned will carry over. It will start you back before you clear the enemies before jumping on the turret. Just keep repeating this as desired.

Covenant of Primus50
Activate Prime Mode.

Prime Mode is similar to Prestige in Call of Duty or Re-Up in Gears of War. When you’ve reached level 25, you have the option to activate Prime Mode and reset your rank back to level one.

Please note that weapons, abilities and challenges are reset back to zero. Your leaderboard ranking, story progress, T.E.C.H., characters and HACKs will remain untouched. So if you haven’t unlocked achievements related to those and you reset your rank, you’ll have to redo everything. It is recommended that you don’t activate Prime Mode until everything else in the game is done.

To activate Prime Mode, from the Main Menu, select ‘Character Setup’ > ‘Prime Mode’. There will be a warning that pops up letting you know that everything will be reset. If you want to continue, press  to unlock the achievement.

It’s The Thought That Counts5
Open 3 Gear Boxes.

You earn Gear Boxes by ranking up and completing challenges (and some Distinctions). There are five types: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Iron and Prime. Each gives you random items, such as new characters for Escalation, weapons and weapon upgrades, T.E.C.H. and HACKs. The better the type, the more items you unlock. These should be opened as soon as you earn them.

There are two ways to open a Gear Box. The first way is from the Main Menu > ‘Character Select’ > ‘Gear Boxes’. The second is from the in-game Pause Menu > ‘Gear Boxes’. To open a Gear Box, select ‘Gear Boxes’ from the menu and press . Press  again to open it. Do this with three Gear Boxes to unlock the achievement.

It is recommended that if you’ve unlocked all the rewards available to not open any more Gear Boxes until after you’ve activated Prime Mode. That way you can restock items you lost when you reset your rank.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Tough10
Make it through Wave 5 in Escalation.

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

The enemies in the first five waves of Escalation are the easiest, consisting of standard enemies. The most powerful enemies you’ll face are Shotgunners, Snipers and Sharpshooters.

It might be wise that if you are playing a particular map to replay the first few waves a few times to get a general knowledge of the map, the installation placements and the spawn points.

Refer to “Double Tough Hard” for more information.

Double Tough25
Make it through Wave 10 in Escalation.

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

Waves 6-10 are a little tougher. In addition to facing the enemies from the first five waves, you’ll also encounter Leapers, Swarmers, Heavy Gunners and Power Foes.

Begin to upgrade the installations that will help you the most. If playing with others, stick together and use the installations to your advantage. If you can find an area of the map where the enemies only come at you from one or two locations, concentrate firepower so that they don’t get through. Otherwise, keep moving around so you don’t get overwhelmed. Use your abilities as necessary and if someone goes down, try to revive them as soon as possible.

Refer to “Double Tough Hard” for more information.

Double Tough Hard50
Make it through Wave 15 in Escalation.   (3)

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

Waves 11-15 are the toughest but the same strategy applies from the earlier waves. Stick together and use your abilities to your advantage. Try and keep installations functional and upgrades as they will help immensely.

Titans appear in waves 11 and 14 and a Super Power Foe appears in wave 15. They are slow but pack a lot of firepower. It is best to clear out the lesser enemies first then flee and concentrate on using the structures to your advantage to get a bead on the bigger enemies. Moving around is essential to surviving.

Hmm, Upgrades10
Upgrade any installation to max level in Escalation.   (1)

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

There are five different installations that you can upgrade on any Escalation map. Each installation has three upgrades. While it costs only 2,900 shards to completely upgrade the ‘Barricade’ or ‘Decoy’ installations, the ‘Health’ and ‘Corrosive’ installations are much more useful. Don’t overlook the ‘Gun Turret’ either. But, if you are playing just to unlock this achievement, either one of the two cheapest installations can be upgraded fully in the first wave or two.

Sometimes installations get damaged and you need to spend shards to repair them. You can either repair it during the wave or wait until the wave is completed to repair it. In order to purchase an upgrade, the installation needs to be functional. Each repair costs between 20-500 shards.

You personally don’t have to buy the first two upgrades. As long as you upgrade an installation the third time, the achievement will unlock.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

You Get Nothing, Good Day Sir10
Slow down the reverse engineering project.   (1)

During chapter 11, you will need to locate and destroy three red glowing containers. Destroying these will slow down Lockdown’s reverse engineering project.

The first one is located in the first area of the chapter. Head around the corner and jump down to the level below and you will see it in a corner on the right.

The second one is located in the next area. Follow the waypoint marker and run or drive through to the next area and stay to the right. Go down the inclines and you will see it around a corner to the right.

The final one is after you need to flee from the Titan. Follow the waypoint marker up a couple of ramps and when the waypoint is at about 30-40% (do not go through the door to the next area), look to your right and you will see the container tucked into a corner. Destroy it to unlock the achievement.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Make Peace, Not War10
Destroy Lockdown's Weapon Caches.   (1)

During chapter 13, you need to locate and destroy 5 glowing red crates. There are six or seven in the chapter but only five are required for this achievement.

Each crate is along your path so there’s no need to list the locations of them. Follow the video below if you are having difficulties.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Somebody's Watching Me25
Find all the Stalker's Observations.    (1)

Audio logs are only found during the Cybertron chapters of the game. For this achievement, there are six audio logs you need to find; three in chapter two and three in chapter three. To pick up an audio log, hold .

When you collect an audio log, it is immediately saved. Your progress is tracked in the ‘Extras’ menu from the Main Menu. This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Thanks to PS4Trophies for the video:

Make It Rain25
Discover the fate of the Entrepreneur.

Audio logs are only found during the Cybertron chapters of the game. For this achievement, there are six audio logs you need to find; five in chapter seven and one in chapter nine.

Spoils of War25
Listen to all the Veteran's laments.

Audio logs are only found during the Cybertron chapters of the game. For this achievement, there are six audio logs you need to find; one in chapter four, three in chapter five and two in chapter six. To pick up an audio log, hold .

When you collect an audio log, it is immediately saved. Your progress is tracked in the ‘Extras’ menu from the Main Menu. This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Snitches Get Stitches10
As Drift, destroy all the Anti-Alien Propaganda Billboards.    (2)

During chapter one, you need to locate and destroy six Anti-Alien Propaganda Billboards. There are seven or eight in the chapter but only six count towards the achievement.

Each one looks different and they sit atop buildings. If you are looking out carefully, they are pretty noticeable. Follow the video below if you are having difficulties.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.” Note that if you restart your checkpoint at any point, you fail the challenge and you must replay the chapter again from the start.

Thanks to PS4Trophies for the video:

My Blade Has Tasted Better10
As Drift, defeat 25 enemies with the Blade Dash ability.   (1)

You play as Drift in chapters one and 12 in the campaign. You learn this ability almost immediately after you start the first chapter. You can also earn this in Escalation.

To use your Blade Dash ability, press  when you are near an enemy. Make sure your ability is full before attempting. If there is more than one nearby, you will dash and defeat all that are close by. Progress through the chapter, using this ability to defeat everyone. As with all abilities, it needs to recharge before you can perform it again, so take cover and allow it to refill (which only takes a few seconds) before re-engaging.

There are far more than 25 enemies in the first chapter, so you should unlock it before you complete it. Otherwise, either replay chapter one again or wait until chapter 12 to continue. Progress is cumulative so if you die or restart a checkpoint, the enemies you defeated previously will still count.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Spectacularly Amazing!25
As Sideswipe, get through the whole chasm using less than 6 grapples.   (1)

About halfway through chapter three, you are separated from your teammate and are required to use your grappling hook to cross a chasm. For this achievement, you need to do this using only five grapples total. To grapple, press  when the indicator appears.

Refer to the video below for the correct path. Note that if you fall and automatically grapple back up, this does not count as a grapple and will not prevent you from unlocking the achievement. However, you may end up on a ledge that is not conducive to your path. If you find that you are stuck, restart the checkpoint (however doing so will fail the challenge).

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.” Note that if you restart your checkpoint at any point, while you can still unlock this achievement, you fail the challenge and you must replay the chapter again up to this point.

Note:
You cannot get this achievement and/or challenge and collect the audio log in this section in one playthrough as it requires you to perform more than five grapples to get to the audio log. Since the audio log is only about midway through this section, you can either obtain the audio log then replay the chapter to earn this achievement/challenge or vice versa. Putting it simply, you will need to replay this chapter up through the chasm area at least twice.

Softly Softly Catchee Monkey20
As Swindle, defeat Cliffjumper without causing any collateral damage.   (3)

At the end of chapter five, you have a standoff with Cliffjumper. Before you engage him, on the ground in a corner across the platforms where Cliffjumper is hiding is a Photon Burst Rifle. It is recommended that you pick it up as it shoots straight and doesn’t spray everywhere.

Now, turn around and you will see Cliffjumper on a platform high above you. He will often move between the left and right platform, and when he decloaks you see his name, shoot at him. It’s best to zoom in so you are more accurate. When his health bar goes down about halfway, he will jump down to the ground and cloak. When he reappears, keep shooting at him. One is health bar disappears, you will unlock the achievement.

It appears that you can defeat other enemies and cause damage to the platforms. I think as long as you don’t completely destroy the platforms the achievement will unlock. Just to be safe, only shoot at Cliffjumper.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.” If at any point it pops up on screen that you failed the challenge (thus voiding the achievement), you can restart the checkpoint and still get the achievement, but you need to replay the chapter again to complete the challenge.

Thanks to PS4Trophies for the video:

No One Gets Outta Here Alive!10
Destroy everything outside the Gates of Kaon.   (1)

During chapter six, there are 11 objects you need to destroy. The first four objects (four red glowing pipes) are right at the beginning of the chapter and the last seven (three bridges and four red glowing objects) are found at the end of the chapter when you transform into Bruticus. Destroy all 11 to unlock the achievement. Refer to the video below for the locations.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.” If at any point during the chapter you need to restart a checkpoint, this will not void the achievement but you need to replay the chapter again to complete the challenge.

What Could Go Wrong?25
As Optimus, complete the rescue of Cliffjumper without using the turret.  (1)

At the end of chapter seven, you need to rescue Cliffjumper. Before entering the area, there is a weapon terminal. The recommended loadout is:

  • The E.D.K. TechVolt as your primary weapon (upgraded if possible).
  • The Thermo Rocket Cannon as your heavy weapon (for the two ceiling turrets that appear halfway through the firefight).
  • Energon Heal Burst for all three T.E.C.H. slots (to heal Jazz as he loses health).

Enter the area, run down the ramp and defeat all the enemies. After clearing the area, Jazz will approach the control panel holding Cliffjumper and attempt to deactivate it. Your waypoint marker will tell you to go to the stationary turret to defend Jazz. It’s tempting, but don’t enter it or else you will void this achievement and challenge. You do need to walk to it to initiate the sequence, though.

To defend Jazz, stand nearby and shoot at the enemies coming down the ramps from the left and right. Depending on how fast you can defeat the enemies, this firefight can last about two minutes. Also keep an eye on Jazz’s health and if it starts to get low, activate a T.E.C.H. to regenerate him, as his health goes down quicker if he gets hit by the turrets. If he dies, you need to start the section over again. Make sure you keep an eye on your own health and ammo.

When you’ve defeated all the enemies, check on Cliffjumper. A cutscene will initiate and the achievement will unlock.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

I'd Like To Leave Here Please15
As Jetfire, escape the ruins of Trypticon without taking any damage from the laser gates.   (1)

At the end of chapter eight, you are tasked with initiating the Trypticon Core orbital strike. When that is complete, you need to escape Trypticon’s ruins through a series of tunnels. Use your boost smartly to quickly navigate through as there is a time limit. Along the way there are four sections where red laser barriers appear across your path. You will know they will appear because there are red glowing sections on the walls. You need to avoid these completely, but are easy to avoid if you time them correctly. When they disappear, just boost through and continue along the path. When you’ve avoided the fourth set of barriers, you will fly down a shaft to the outside, unlocking the achievement.

Sting Like A . . .10
As Bumblebee, defeat a sniper with a melee attack.   (2)

In chapter 10, after covering Drift from the sniper points, your new objective is to scout the next canyon. You will pass through a tunnel with a Weapon Terminal inside. As you exit the tunnel, there will be a cutscene of a sniper perching himself on a wall. He will flying around searching for a better spot to target you just keep moving around. It takes two melees to defeat him, so wait until he is in a place where you can reach him and then melee him. He may fly away from you, but won’t fly away completely. Once you’ve defeated him, the achievement will unlock.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Thanks to PS4Trophies for the video:

Tread Lightly25
As Grimlock, prevent Optimus from falling below 50% health while defending him.   (1)

This takes place at the end of chapter 13 when you and Drift are tasked with defending Optimus and Bumblebee while he opens up a giant manhole cover. It is best to not wander too far from Optimus as your body and shield can sustain more firepower than him, similar to the strategy used for the “What Could Go Wrong?” achievement.

The enemies attack from both the left and right and also from the front. I found this easier in robot mode and just kept swinging my club with the melee button. If there are no enemies attacking, Optimus’ health replenishes. Keep an eye on his health bar, and as long as you stay close by and use your body and shield for protection, and play on Easy difficulty, you should have no trouble unlocking this achievement.

This is also tracked as an in-game Challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.” If at any point it pops up on screen that you failed the challenge (thus voiding the achievement), restarting the checkpoint will not work; you need to replay the entire chapter again from the beginning for another chance at unlocking the achievement and completing the challenge.

Thanks to PS4Trophies for the video:

Give Me The News Doc25
Heal 50000 health points amongst you and your allies.

This achievement is cumulative in both campaign and Escalation. No matter how you heal yourself or others, whether from a Heal Beam, C.U.R.E.D. T.E.C.H., Repair Sentry or healing installation, even picking up Energon Cubes or using the Energon Harvester weapon, all count towards this achievement. This will likely be one of the last achievements you unlock, mainly because you’re going to have to grind it some.

Note that health recovered from reviving someone does not count for this achievement.

Refer to “healing.exe” and “I Hope You Have Insurance” for more information and strategies.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Need . . . Oil . . . Can25
Defeat 75 enemies that are slowed.   (1)

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

As you play Escalation, you will notice different installations around the map. For this achievement, you need to activate the Corrosive installation, and if possible, upgrade it fully. What this installation does is it creates a dome of corrosive coating and when enemies run into it, it coats them which slows them down. While they are coated, they have a yellowish/green aura. They will eventually explode on their own. All you need to do is defeat 75 enemies while they are under the effects of this corrosive goo.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Bleeding Edge25
Complete the game with a HACK active.   (2)

HACKs are items in the game, while being beneficial to you by increasing your XP percentage, are a hindrance as well as they usually make enemies stronger thus harder to defeat, similar to skulls in Halo

This description is a little misleading. To earn this achievement, you do not have to play the entire game with a HACK active; just equip one before facing Lockdown and defeat him. HACKs are randomly found inside Gear Boxes and, for this achievement, can only be assigned at a weapon terminal. There are several Weapon Terminals throughout chapter 14, so you can assign a HACK at any of them. The final one is in a hallway as you go through numbered doors just before you reach the final area, so that would be the perfect time to assign one. It doesn’t matter which one you assign but I would select something more favorable to you, like ‘More Ammo’ or ‘More Health.’

If you happen to die, you will lose your HACK, so if you find yourself getting low on health with no replenishment in sight, it would be best to restart the checkpoint so you don’t lose it. Also, if you reload a previous save file, you lose your HACK.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Of Merit and Distinction25
Earn 250 Combat Distinctions.

Combat distinctions are earned for performing certain actions against enemies. You are rewarded with XP and sometimes Energon shards and Gear Boxes each time you earn one. Ability kills, headshots, activating and upgrading installations and surviving waves in Escalation, amongst others, all count towards this achievement.

There are 111 different distinctions in the game. Some can only be earned in Escalation and others in both campaign and Escalation. Distinctions work like challenges as you can earn the same one over and over again. You will likely earn a good deal of them without even trying, so just play normally and you will likely get this achievement many times over before completing both modes.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Challenge Accepted25
Complete 50 Challenges.

There are 95 challenges total in the game but you only need to complete 50 for this achievement. You are rewarded with XP and Gear Boxes each time you complete one. Challenges are obtained in both campaign and Escalation for completing certain actions, like collecting all the audio logs, performing a specific action to defeat an enemy, healing an ally a certain number of health points, defeating X number of enemies with X weapon, etc. You can even complete the same challenge multiple times and have they count again! You will likely earn a good deal of them without even trying, so just play normally and you will likely get this achievement many times over before completing both modes.

42 of these challenges are completed as you unlock achievements throughout the game, so over 80% of these will be completed naturally if your intention is to 100% this game. Please note some achievement-related challenges become void if you restart a checkpoint, so refer to the guide solutions for more information about these. If the challenge becomes void, you have to play the entire chapter again.

Blasters! Blasters! Blasters!25
Unlock every weapon.

There are 18 weapons total in the game, nine each for primary and heavy weapons. Note that if you obtain a new weapon in a chapter, it will not be unlocked. They are only unlocked by opening Gear Boxes and are random; there is no set pattern on which weapons are unlocked for a particular type of Gear Box. If you are presented with a weapon that you’ve previously unlocked, it gets converted to either a HACK or T.E.C.H.

You earn a Gear Box every time you rank up or complete a challenge, so if you reach Level 25 before unlocking this achievement, don’t activate Prime Mode (as it resets your weapons and upgrades). This will likely unlock through natural progression but if it hasn’t, just replay campaign chapters or Escalation to complete more challenges as the same one can be completed multiple times (there are four simple ones in chapter one that can be completed in a short amount of time).

This Weapon of Iron & Wood10
Fully upgrade a primary weapon.

Each primary weapon has four upgrades. As with weapons, upgrades are randomly unlocked by opening up any type of Gear Box and they are specific to that particular weapon. Just keep ranking up and completing challenges to earn Gear Boxes and you will eventually unlock all the upgrades for one weapon.

To upgrade a weapon, select primary weapon from the ‘Character Setup’ menu or in-game at a weapon terminal. Scrolling through them will show you if there are upgrades available. If there is, press  to access the upgrade menu, use  to move to your desired upgrade and press  to acquire it. The fourth upgrade will not be available until you’ve upgraded the previous three. It is recommended that you acquire your upgrades as soon as they are available. Once you’ve acquired all four upgrades, the achievement will unlock.

It is likely that you will upgrade several weapons as you play through the game so this one should unlock with natural progression.

VROOM-pire!10
Defeat 50 enemies by siphoning their health away with the Energon Harvester.

The Energon Harvester is a heavy weapon that drains an enemies Energon and redistributes it to you, so it’s useful if you are low on health (to count towards “Give Me The News Doc”). It is unlocked by opening Gear Boxes. This achievement can be unlocked in both campaign and Escalation.

Equip this weapon either from the ‘Character Setup’ menu (for Escalation) or in-game at a weapon terminal (for campaign). This weapon has limited range and ammo, so you need to be close to an enemy for it to be effective. Just keep using this weapon to defeat enemies and it will unlock with natural progression.

A good place to grind this is in Escalation on the map Obsidian. On the first wave, where the enemies spawn, on the hill there is a raised spot where the decoy installation is. Activate the decoy to draw the enemies towards you and work your way to that elevated spot, and when three or four enemies bunch around it, use this weapon to defeat them. You will unlock it in no time.

Use the V32.Cybr Corrupt@r on a Power Foe and have them defeat an enemy.   (2)

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

The V32.CYBR Corrupt@r is a Heavy weapon that, when shot, corrupts an enemy into thinking he is an ally. It is unlocked by opening Gear Boxes. Equip this weapon in the ‘Character Setup’ menu before starting a match.

Power Foes spawn on waves six and 15 in Escalation. You will notice a Power Foe because of the health bar above him. For this achievement, you need to shoot him with the V32.CYBR Corrupt@r and temporarily make him fight for you. All they need to do to unlock this achievement is defeat one of his former allies. If he doesn’t do this the first time, shoot him again for another opportunity.

Shadow Company25
Defeat 25 enemies after using the Cloak ability.   (1)

You first obtain the Cloak ability at the beginning of chapter four while playing as Sharpshot. This achievement can be unlocked in both campaign and Escalation.

As you encounter enemies, all you need to do is press  to activate this ability. Then defeat them by melee or by shooting them and you will decloak in the process. They need to be immediate kills for them to count; they can’t recover. Wait for the ability to recharge before attempting again.

After you defeat Ironhide, you need to support Shockwave as he progresses through a canyon. There is a Weapon Terminal here. Equip the Thermo Rocket Cannon before continuing. Keep this weapon for the remainder of this chapter. You can try to unlock the achievement while you disable the barriers, but there’s a lot of shooting going on, and if you’re hit, you decloak.

A better place is towards the end of the chapter where you have to assist Shockwave in turning on the power to open doors. When he tells you to head for a terminal to restore power to the last door, make your way down the corridors, and after flipping the switch, make your way back up the corridors. Six Autobots, in groups of two, appear as you ascend (these are the final enemies of the chapter). Hiding behind the corner, switch to your Heavy weapon, activate your ability and dash up the corridor. Destroy the first Autobot and then back up and wait for the ability to recharge. Repeat five more times and then restart the checkpoint. You will be back at the switch. Repeat as necessary.

In Escalation, Cliffjumper, Scattershot, Starscream and Vortex have this ability or you can select it for any character in the ‘Character Setup’ menu if you’ve unlocked it with a Gear Box. You can begin a solo private match and have the required number in just a few waves if using a character with this ability.

Note that defeating enemies via stealth (pressing  while cloaked behind an enemy) does not count towards this achievement.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Thumbs Up Soldier!10
Defeat 35 enemies using throwback damage from the Kinetic Capacitor Shield ability.

You first obtain this ability at the beginning of chapter seven while playing as Optimus Prime and again in chapter nine. This achievement can be unlocked in both campaign and Escalation.

The Kinetic Capacitor Shield is an ability that, when activated, absorbs damage from enemy fire and then can be redirected to inflict damage on enemies. It is activated by pressing  so your shield can absorb the energy. When it is completely charged, the shield will glow red and the ability icon will turn yellow and start flashing, letting you know that it is ready to be discharged. Press  to release a wide dispersal of energy towards your enemies (this is the throwback damage). Any enemy you defeat with this will count towards this achievement. Relocate while your ability recharges.

In Escalation, Hound, Optimus Prime (all versions), Slug and Hardshell have this ability or you can select it for any character in the ‘Character Setup’ menu if you’ve unlocked it with a Gear Box. You can begin a solo private match and have the required number in just a few waves if using a character with this ability.

A good place to grind this is in Escalation on the map Obsidian. On the first wave, where the enemies spawn, on the hill there is a raised spot where the Decoy installation is. Activate the decoy to draw the enemies towards you and work your way to that elevated spot, and when three or four enemies bunch around it, activate this ability to defeat them. You will unlock it in no time.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Marked for Destruction25
Defeat 50 enemies marked with E.D.U.   (1)

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

The E.D.U. is an ability that, when activated, marks nearby enemies with a red arrow and reduces their armor for a short time, making them easier to defeat. Swoop and Shockwave have this ability or you can select it for any character in the ‘Character Setup’ menu if you’ve unlocked it with a Gear Box. You can begin a solo private match and have the required number in just a few waves if using a character with this ability.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Turret Buddy25
Defeat 25 enemies with your Battle Sentry.   (1)

You first obtain this ability at the beginning of chapter five while playing as Swindle and again in chapter six. This achievement can be unlocked in both campaign and Escalation. Note that this only applies to the Battle Sentry ability, not the assigned Battle Drone T.E.C.H.

The Battle Sentry is an ability that, when activated, produces a stationary gun turret above you and assists you in defeating enemies. It is activated by pressing . When you’ve cleared the immediate area of enemies, press  again to deactivate it so it can recharge. Any enemy you defeat with this will count towards this achievement. Note that enemies will target your turret to destroy it, so don’t let it do all the work.

In Escalation, Zeta Prime and Lockdown have this ability or you can select it for any character in the ‘Character Setup’ menu if you’ve unlocked it with a Gear Box.

You will unlock it in no time.

healing.exe25
Repair 5000 points of damage with your Repair Sentry.   (1)

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

In Escalation, Ironhide, Ratchet, Quake and Dead End have this ability or you can select it for any character in the ‘Character Setup’ menu if you’ve unlocked it with a Gear Box. Note that this only applies to the Repair Sentry ability, not the assigned C.U.R.E.D. T.E.C.H. and heals only health, not shields.

There’s no real strategy to unlock this if you are playing Escalation for enjoyment; just use it to heal anyone who needs it (including yourself). It would be ideal if you were playing with two or three other people, so that when you are in a firefight, you can activate it off to the side and heal your allies. Note that enemies will target your sentry to destroy it, so it is recommended not to activate it in direct combat. You should deactivate it when everyone is at full health so it can recharge.

You can do this in a solo private match, although it will take some time. First, select the Riot Cannon as your Primary weapon. Then, either choose a character with this ability or select the Repair Sentry as your ability on the ‘Character Setup’ screen. Start up a match on any map and defeat all but one enemy. Next, find a quiet corner and start shooting at your feet. I found that playing as a flying character on the map Obsidian was the best. There is a building with a satellite dish on top of it. This is the perfect spot to not worry about getting shot much.

Take away your shields then your health then activate the Repair Sentry. As it heals you, continue to shoot at your feet. Each Riot Cannon blast takes away 40-45 health, so when it’s above 50, shoot at the ground again (note, if you’ve fully upgraded it, you must reload when there’s one blast left or else it will destroy you). If you time it correctly, your shields won’t recharge. Do this until the sentry disappears. As it’s recharging, go to a weapon terminal and restock your ammo, then keep repeating. If the enemy finds you, just relocate. Make sure you don’t destroy yourself in the process.

This strategy can also be used to grind “Give Me The News Doc.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Quartermaster25
Resupply 250 times with the Ammo Supply Core.   (1)

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

In Escalation, only Bumblebee (both versions) has this ability or you can select it for any character in the ‘Character Setup’ menu if you’ve unlocked it with a Gear Box. Note that the DLC characters Skywarp and Stinger also have this ability.

The Ammo Supply Core is an ability that, when activated, resupplies ammo to anyone within its dome. There is no real strategy to obtaining this except that whenever the ability is available, especially in a firefight, activate it. Also make sure you activate it in between waves so everyone has full ammo when the next one starts. Make sure you keep reloading so your clip is completely full. If you use this frequently, this will unlock with natural progression.

The resupplies count for your allies and yourself, so technically you can do this in a solo private match, although it will take some time. First, equip yourself with the X-18 Scrapmaker (as it can’t be reloaded manually). With just one enemy left on the map, find a quiet corner and start shooting against a wall. Activate the ability and it will automatically reload the weapon automatically and fill your ammo. If the enemy finds you, just relocate. You can get six or seven reloads each time the ability is activated. It takes about 15 seconds to recharge. Repeat as needed.

This is also tracked as an in-game challenge and is cumulative towards “Challenge Accepted.

Totally OP25
Defeat 100 enemies with the Riot Cannon.

The Riot Cannon is a primary weapon that is basically a mini-cannon that shoots powerful rockets with damage that disperses over a generally wide area. It is Megatron’s primary weapon in previous Transformers games and is unlocked by opening Gear Boxes. This achievement can be unlocked in both Campaign and Escalation.

Equip this weapon either from the ‘Character Setup’ menu (for Escalation) or in-game at a Weapon Terminal (for Campaign). Just keep using this weapon to defeat enemies and it will unlock with natural progression.

If you’ve fully upgraded this weapon, the last shot in the clip deals significantly more damage over a larger radius, easily defeating all nearby enemies.

I Hope You Have Insurance25
Heal 15000 health points with your Heal Beam.   (2)

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

As you are playing Escalation, whenever you see an ally’s health bar decreasing, use your Heal Beam on them. The Heal Beam is used by Perceptor, Ultra Magnus and Blast Off, or by selecting it as your ability in the ‘Character Setup’ menu if you’ve unlocked it with a Gear Box. Note that the DLC character Thundercracker also has this ability.

There’s no real strategy to unlock this if you are playing Escalation for enjoyment; just use it to heal anyone who needs it. It would be ideal if you were playing with two or three other people, so that when you are in a firefight, you can stand close to your allies and keep pulsing the Heal Beam to heal their damage.

If you have a boosting partner for Escalation, there is a quicker way to unlock this. Have player one select either Bumblebee or any character where the Ammo Supply Core ability is chosen. Also select the Riot Cannon as their Primary Weapon. The reason you need the Ammo Supply Core ability is so that you can reload without looking for ammo. Then, have player two select either Perceptor or Ultra Magnus or any character that has the Heal Beam ability chosen.

Clear a wave of all but one enemy then find a secluded area on the map. Have player one shoot at their feet to damage their shields then their health, making sure not to take too much away. Then have player two pulse the Heal Beam in succession to player one’s damage as the beam heals quicker than damage taken. Timing it correctly will have player one damaging themselves as player two heals them at the same time. Use the Ammo Supply Core to reload your ammo when you are low. This should only take about 20-25 minutes for player one. Then just repeat the process for player two.

Scrapped25
Use Explosive Path to defeat 35 enemies.   (2)

You first obtain this ability at the end of chapter six while playing as Bruticus. This achievement can be unlocked in both campaign and Escalation.

The Explosive Path is an ability that, when activated, lays down a series of explosives in a line in front of the player that ends in a shockwave blast. Only enemies destroyed in the shockwave count towards this achievement. It is activated by pressing .

After you combine into Bruticus, you’re tasked with destroying the bridges then defending the gates of Kaon against Autobot intruders. The enemies in this area appear to be infinite, so this is where you’ll want to grind for this achievement. Take notice of how far the shockwave explodes from you and use that distance to gauge approaching enemies. Adjust your distance from the enemies to ensure that they get destroyed in the shockwave blast.

In Escalation, Grimlock, Snarl, Warpath, Demolisher and Megatron have this ability or you can select it for any character in the ‘Character Setup’ menu if you’ve unlocked it with a Gear Box. You can begin a solo private match and have the required number in just a few waves if using a character with this ability. Refer to the video below for a good location and technique.

Tormenta25
Use Thunder Blast to earn 35 multi kills.

You first obtain this ability in chapter two while playing as Shockwave and again in chapter eight while playing as Jetfire. This achievement can be unlocked in both campaign and Escalation.

The Thunder Blast is an ability that, when activated, sends a shockwave blast out towards enemies, throwing them back and destroying them. This achievement counts only for multiple enemies destroyed in the blast. The range on this ability is limited, so you need to be close for it to be effective. It is activated by pressing .

In chapter two, when you first start playing as Shockwave, you will be in a room with a weapon terminal where numerous Insecticons spawn. Wait for them to bunch up then your ability. You will be able to use it maybe two or three times until all the enemies are defeated and the door opens. Your kills are cumulative, so at this point, donot advance to the next area; restart the checkpoint and you will be back in the room. Unlocking this achievement here will probably take about 15 minutes.

In chapter eight, you will come to an area and Jetfire will say to himself, “Strange… This Decepticon gear is new.” On the platform above are four enemies. Ascend slowly so they don’t detect you. When you are over the floor, transform into robot mode and the enemies will rush you. Activate your ability here are you should at least destroy two enemies. Restart the checkpoint and repeat as necessary. The good thing about this checkpoint is that it loads up in just two or three seconds. Unlocking this achievement here will also take about 15 minutes.

In Escalation, Airraid, Drift, Jetfire, Brawl, Kickback, Sharpshot and Onslaughthave this ability or you can select it for any character in the ‘Character Setup’ menu if you’ve unlocked it with a Gear Box. You can begin a solo private match and have the required number in just a few waves if using a character with this ability.

A good place to grind this is in Escalation on the map Obsidian. On the first wave, where the enemies spawn, on the hill there is a raised ledge where the Decoy and Corrosive installations are. Activate the decoy to draw the enemies towards you and work your way to that elevated ledge (easier as a jet, so if you are a vehicle, jump up on the nearby crates and then jump and dash to the ledge), and when three or four enemies bunch around it, activate this ability to defeat them. You will unlock it in a matter of time.

Earn 25000 Energon Shards.

*This can only be earned in Escalation mode.*

As you defeat enemies (by you or installations you’ve upgraded), heal allies and open up boxes in Escalation, you earn a non-specific amount of Energon Shards. Shards act as currency and are used to upgrade and repair installations on the map. Whether or not you spend them, the amount you earn is what counts for this achievement.

This achievement is cumulative over all of your Escalation games so you don’t need to earn the full amount in one match. This will come with naturally progression, so don’t even worry about this one.

What Does This Do?15
Use 50 T.E.C.H.

T.E.C.H. are rewards for opening Gear Boxes. There are 14 in total. They are items that, when activated, give you perks in battle, from extra XP, shields, heal bursts, and a battle drone amongst other things. This achievement can be unlocked in both campaign and Escalation.

You equip these either from the ‘Character Setup’ menu (for Escalation) or in-game at a Weapon Terminal (for campaign) and you can equip up to three at one time. Each T.E.C.H. is assigned a position on the D-Pad, so all you need to do to activate a T.E.C.H. is press the D-Pad in the appropriate direction.

This should unlock with natural progression, but if you find you need more, just access any Weapon Terminal, assign T.E.C.H. and activate them until the achievement unlocks.

Drive or Fly 26 miles (42km).   (1)

Every Transformer has a vehicle mode, whether it’s an automobile or aircraft. To change modes, press down on . Wherever you move (front, back, left or right) when you’re in vehicle mode counts towards this achievement and is cumulative in both campaign and Escalation.

This should unlock with natural progression, but if you find you need more, play an Escalation match and defeat all but one enemy. Then, transform into vehicle mode and just keep driving or flying around until the achievement unlocks.

Full Metal Jacket10
Reload 1000 times.    (3)

You earn this in both campaign and Escalation and counts towards manual and automatic reloads. It’s very simple; when you’ve fired your weapon, press  to reload. After each encounter, reload your weapon so it’s full for the next one. This will unlock through natural progression.

Welcome to Earth!50
Defeat Lockdown.    (9)

*Story related and cannot be missed.*

It has all come down to this. To prevent Lockdown going back in time and changing the present, you must defeat him and destroy the Dark Spark.

The final battle is not too difficult. When you enter the area, after moving around the structure clearing out enemies, your objective is to destroy three stabilizers. Once you do that, Lockdown jumps down and a cutscene is shown. When Optimus breaks free from the slowdown, this is where the final battle begins.

The fight starts with Lockdown teleporting and holding onto the side of the structure. Shoot at him until he drops to the ground. Then, the only way to damage him is to melee him. To do the most damage, dash and melee over and over again ( then ). Watch out for his counter-melees and him using the Dark Spark. He will also shoot at you. You can tell if he is about to use the Dark Spark because he raises his arms and a leg, as if to charge at you, releasing a shockwave. If you are caught in its effects, you are slowed and he will deal significant damage, so dash away immediately to avoid the blast radius.

Once you’ve dealt enough damage to him, he will again teleport and hold onto the side of the structure. Repeat the process until his health bar is depleted. Once the final cutscene initiates, the achievement will unlock.

Note:
You can also unlock the achievement “Bleeding Edge” of you activate a HACK before the final battle. The last Weapon Terminal is located in the hallway before entering this final area. Access it and assign a move favorable HACK, like ‘More Ammo’ or ‘More Health,’ before moving on. Refer to that achievement solution for more information.
