Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon creative director Dean Evans would like a go at making games based around Doom and RoboCop.

The Doom angle comes from Hobo with a Shotgun director Jason Eisener, who was interviewed by Game Informer recently. Eisener provided Evans with assistance during the development of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

"[Evans and I] became really good friends out of this," said Eisener. "He came down for five days to Dartmouth and spent New Year's with us. It was freezing cold here, so we just stayed in a basement playing video games for like five days straight.

"We were just constantly riffing off video game ideas and have constantly been talking 'til now that we want to do something together and really punch something out. I can't really say what it is we're talking about yet. But we definitely have some really fun ideas of what we want to do together. I know though, we really want to do Doom.

"I want to make a Doom movie, and Dean wants to make a new Doom video game. We would love to just join those two forces together someday."

The RoboCop connection, meanwhile, comes via an interview with Evans himself.

"I've told [Michael Biehn, who played Corporal Hicks in the Aliens movie and Aliens: Colonial Marines, as well as Rex Colt in Blood Dragon] about how I want to purchase the RoboCop license at some time," he observed. "I've spoken to him about a number of different things.

"There's a lot of things I'd really like to do. In terms of the product catalogue at Ubisoft, a sequel is not in discussion at all. Obviously I would love to do something and continue things, but it's not my decision whatsoever."

I don’t know about you, but given the choice I’d pick Evans to do a RoboCop game over everything else.

Beyond this, Michael Biehn has also outlined his experience working on Aliens: Colonial Marines, something he describes as “soulless.”

"The only other gaming experience that I had was I did a voice in the Aliens game that they made," he said. "That wasn't fun at all. I just didn't really have any fun.

"It seemed kind of passionless. I think in movies, television, and the gaming world, you get some people that are really, really passionate, and some people that are just going through the paces. They think that because they have a brand name they're going to get a hit game or hit movie out of it. That certainly was the situation on [Aliens: Colonial Marines]."
