343 Industries has posted a new update about the progress of the next major update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection which aims to finally fix a lot of the issues that have been plaguing the game since its release 4 years ago. The blog post details what players can expect from the private beta tests along with a glimpse at some of the new UI designs.

The devs over at 343 have been working hard over the last few months to fix a lot of the issues with the game and to get it prepped for its first private beta run which aims to take place very soon. The update will bring in a couple of new features such as Intelligent Install, which will let players have the option to install one or more specific titles, and some UI and UX updates.

To tease the new UI and UX updates, 343 have released a couple of images which showcase what players can expect to see once the update starts getting rolled out. The Title Screen background has been completely changed along with the Main Menu switching from horizontal to vertical layout. You can also see what the Intelligent Install feature will look like in the top right corner.

Along with fixing various matchmaking issues, completely revamping the UI and introducing a few new features, the major update will also include an Xbox One X enhancement patch. This means players can expect enhanced visuals that they've come to enjoy from the One X along with the option for HDR/SDR calibration settings.

The Development Update post goes into a lot of detail for various things that the devs at 343 have been working on but one of the more interesting tidbits is that one of them has been working on bringing Halo Custom Edition maps over into the game. This isn't a feature tied to the official milestone of the update but it's just something that's being quietly developed on the side which many Halo fans will be excited about.

You can check out the full update here from 343 Industries about the progress of Halo: The Master Chief Collections next major update which will hopefully be heading to Xbox One this summer. You can check out what the new UI will look like below thanks to these photos from 343.
