343 Industries has released another big ol' update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which comes with a plethora of changes including one big one to make the multiplayer experience much smoother for players.

The update adds 60Hz support by upgrading the rate at which network packets are sent by the server in Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4, which should improve how smooth and reliable online games are. Across the board, the servers and clients have been upgraded to be able to send 60 packets per second now, which means it now matches the games frame rate of 60FPS.

"The increased send rates should generally result in an overall smoother online experience. This improvement affects dedicated servers as well as peer servers in peer-to-peer matches," commented Microsoft's Dana Jerpbak. So next time you boot up The Master Chief Collection, you should see some smoother online games in multiplayer.

This major update also changes the load screens for multiplayer games so that they now display a lot more information for players to see such as map layout, primary starting weapon, the players in your match and more. Even campaign loading screens have been updated to display the mission name, difficulty setting, and highlight the skulls that have been activated.

The latest update post on Halo Waypoint goes into a lot more detail about all the ins and outs of the latest major update so you can check that out here.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available on Xbox One with Halo: Reach set to be making its way to it in the near future so happy days.
