Resident Evil 3 Support Studio M-Two Working on 'Larger Remake Project' for Capcom - Report

A team comprising former PlatinumGames developers including ex-CEO Tatsuya Minami, M-Two recently served as a support studio on the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake. And according to a report from VGC, the studio is also currently working on a "larger remake project for Capcom" as the lead developer.

M-Two founder Minami served as Executive Producer on the new version of Resident Evil 3, having enjoyed a long history with Capcom. His previous roles include work as a designer on Street Fighter II Turbo and Super Ghouls and Ghosts, as well as producer credits on the Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Mega Man games.

Since leaving his post as president of PlatinumGames in 2016, Minami formed Capcom-backed studio M-Two, with the original plan involving Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, who instead decided to stay with The Evil Within developer Tango Gameworks rather than join the new studio.

While it's not known what the "larger remake project" that M-Two is reportedly working on could be, we do know that fans continue to ask for Dino Crisis (trademarks for which were renewed in December 2019), which does seem like the next logical remake for Capcom to tackle. Goodness knows a Dino Crisis remake would look sensational using the RE Engine. So, fingers crossed, eh?

Resident Evil 3 is out on 3rd April, and you can read our review here.
