Mojang has announced that Minecraft Dungeons will be launching this May, moving the originally intended late April launch date back a month.

"As you all know, we initially planned to release Minecraft Dungeons by the end of April," Mojang's Per Landin writes on the official Minecraft site. "However, due to the current state of the world, this was no longer possible, as we wanted to guarantee the health and safety of our teams, and empower them to deliver the best possible experience to you, our players. We hope you’ll find it was worth the wait."

Minecraft Dungeons supports up to four players banding together to defeat the nefarious Arch-Illager and his legion of "new-and-nasty" mobs. Spread across numerous levels where you can tailor your character to suit your chosen playstyle with various weapons, artifacts, and enchantments, Minecraft Dungeons features both online and local co-op, with cross-platform support planned in a free future update.

You'll be able to jump in to Minecraft Dungeons when it releases on 26th May for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch. On Xbox One and Windows PC, you'll be able to download the the game as part of an Xbox Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Alternatively, you'll be able to nab the Minecraft Dungeons standard edition for $19.99/£16.74 or the Hero Edition for $29.99/£24.99, bundling the Hero Pass, which includes a Hero Cape, two players skins, a chicken pet and access to two upcoming DLC Packs.
