Star Wars: Squadrons Will Feature Flight Stick Support on Xbox One

Written By

EA Motive has confirmed that confirmed that Star Wars: Squadrons will support flight stick controls when it launches on Xbox One next month.

The game had previously been confirmed to support HOTAS (Hands On Throttle-And-Stick) controls on PC, but console support hadn't been confirmed. Now, EA Motive Game Designer Ian S. Frazier has announced that HOTAS support will be coming to Xbox One on launch in a day one patch. This means that players will be able to live out their Star Wars piloting dreams in the most realistic way possible, especially when combined with Squadrons' "Instruments Only" mode, which strips away all the UI and asks players to use only the in-game ship readouts when piloting.

There is currently no confirmation as to exactly which peripherals will be supported, with more specific details expected to be revealed closer to launch.

Star Wars: Squadrons launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 2nd October 2020.
