Due to launch in 2021, Resident Evil: Village (AKA Resident Evil VIII) is set to release for next-gen consoles, but Capcom is also working on bringing the game to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. While Capcom has yet to make promises regarding an Xbox One and PS4 version, it's currently being considered, the company confirmed during today's Tokyo Game Show live stream.

Promising a greater level of freedom than Resident Evil 7: biohazard, Resident Evil: Village picks up with protagonist Ethan Winters, who once again finds himself embroiled in another horrible situation, this time trapped in the titular, "beautiful yet terrifying" village. Expect open environments, a muted colour palette, and even more macabre nastiness, as well as more complex puzzles than before.

Resident Evil: Village is scheduled to release sometime in 2021 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with possible Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions in the offing. Check out the new behind-the-scenes 'Winter Comes for Ethan' video below for insights on the new game from Director Morimasa Sato, Art Director Tomonori Takano, and Producer Peter Fabiano.
