Ubisoft has confirmed that both Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine have been pushed beyond Q1 2021, which means the former will no longer make its 18th February 2021 release date, and the latter will now presumably release within the same April 2021 to March 2022 release window.

The company put the delay down to ongoing production challenges related to COVID-19, but noted that with Watch Dogs: Legion and Assasin's Creed Valhalla both releasing within a two week period, "the decision to delay the aforementioned titles isn't going to have its usual impact."

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot also stated during an investor's call held earlier today, that "the videogame industry is benefitting from very strong momentum. It is by far the fastest-growing segment of entertainment and is driving unprecedented consumer engagement and social interactions."

He continued: "In this context, our strategy and competitive advantages continue to be fully validated by recent industry announcements of consolidation and new platform launches. The value of videogame IPs has never been so strong and these announcements highlight the importance of owning a deep and diversified portfolio of high-quality franchises."

Both Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine will now release much later in 2021, certainly beyond April next year, and perhaps even as late as March 2022.
